Origami HK Bow!

This was too cute not to post! Enjoy!

Il y a longtemps que je t'aime

I've loved you so long. It's a foreign movie, French to be exact, that stars a pretty well-known actress here in the United States: Kristin Scott Thomas as Juliette. Throughout the entire movie, there seemed to be an "air of uncertainty" surrounding the main characters and the story line itself. Quiet, reserved, and un-nerved by what goes on around her, Juliette makes her way through life as a ghost.. wandering and never seeming to know where she is going, or even supposed to go. The ending exposed the truth... slowly revealing itself in the last 20 minutes of the film. Even after knowing the truth, it still left me just as uneasy as I was during the entire film!

Scales on a Hot Tin Roof

I saw Scales perform last night at the Tin Can Ale House in Bankers Hill. I got there around 9:30pm after meeting up with Joy (check out her blog at www.joyjama.com) who is also in the band as a Scarlet Scalette. She plays the tambourine and man, can she sha-sha-shake it! Scales performed last so I got to err-enjoy the first two bands that played. Not quite sure what their names were. They weren't necessarily what I consider my taste in music.. but they brought the friendliest crowd with them! So if that reflects who they are as a band.. sign me up! So at about 11pm.. the NOISE was bo-rought-ten by the members of Scales. They played two new songs, one of which is called Haunted Home which was soooo good. Totally a "mood" song.. it had a creepy bass line that I dug. They are playing at Bar Pink next week and then their big show is at the Che Cafe at UCSD on March 5, 2010. Here's a poster I made today for the show:

Secret Yakuza

These prints are by the talented Stasia Burrington. Inspired by japanese women and their body art, the viewer is allowed to see the secret lives of these avant-garde women. I am in love! Check out her work at: http://stasiab.wordpress.com

Ooh-la-la!

Check out my new header! I just made it in my independent study class with Lindsey Baker. It was on my "to-do" list for class next week but I was too anxious!!! I think it totally captures kitkat.dee and my blog. (I'm doing the cabbage patch dance in my head right meow!)

Oh.. and I took the test and it said that I had "fair" stress levels. Hmm... I'm not sure about that one. Although... 2010 has been amazing to me so far so maaaaaybe?

Everything's just wonderful...

This weekend was one of the best weekends I've had so far this year! It was a celebration of love- with my adoring beau, my beautiful friends and loving family. Nothing was planned for yesterday, the actual V-day- since my boyfriend and I spent V-day the night before and he had to work the dinner shift last night. So.. we spent a lovely morning together.. I made breakfast: eggs over medium, bacon for days, avocado on the side and some toast. We then had some wine as we watched a couple of episodes of The Wire. He had work at 5pm so my friends Brett and Jason came over to get a copy of the Scales poster I made for them (see older post w/pic) around that time. About an hour later, after watching "Becoming Human" and the overly stylized "Spartacus" (on Starz,) my friend Joy happened to text that she was having dinner at Alexander's.. which is only a few blocks away. I invited her over.. we had ice cream, snacks galore, and some refreshing Stellas. Andy called Brett.. he made it over as we all watched the perfectly stylized movie Buffalo 66, starring Christina Ricci and Vincent Gallo, who also wrote and directed the movie. Here's one of the clips:

This movie is filled with a slew of memorable and humorous quotes! And might I add, the soundtrack was also done by Vincent Gallo himself! Bravo, monsignor! Bravo!

Happy Hearts Day!

Today is Valentine's Day and I'm in love. I couldn't have asked for a more beautiful celebration of love last night as my boyfriend and I had dinner, wine, and good conversations.
