Honey Bee

A love song to my honey bee...
This video showcases a few of Zee Avi's songs, with the first song
being: Honey Bee. My boyfriend Matthew is fascinated by honey
bees so hearing this song immediately reminded me of him.

I am a honey bee
Shunned off from the colony
And they won’t let me in
So I left the hive
They took away all my stripes
And broke off both my wings
So I’ll find another tree
And make the wind my friend
I’ll just sing with the birds
They’ll tell me secrets off the world

But my other honey bee
Stuck where he doesn’t wanna be
Oh my darling honey bee
I’ll come save you
Even if it means I’ll have to face the queen

So I’ll come prepared
My new friends say they would help me
Get my loved one back
They say it isn’t right
The bees have control of your mind
But I choose not to believe that
So we’ll meet in the darkness of the night
And I’ll promise I will be there on time
We’ll be guided by my new friends the butterflies
Bring us back to our own little hive

Oh my other honey bee
No longer stuck where he doesn’t wanna be
Oh my darling honey bee
I have saved you
And now that you’re with me
We can make our own honey

Know the Facts

Reppin' from the CHI-town is (my cousin) Justin Grey aka Fact. A talented graffiti and graphic artist.. not to mention, a one helluva B-Boy.. Fact is all about bringing the truth from the streets to his canvas. His "Know the Facts" Art Gallery showing has its closing reception tonight at the Novem Shop on 1104 N. Ashland from 6-10pm tonight. Unfortunately for me, I am in California so I will not be able to attend. If you are in Chicago tonight, make sure to stop by and check out the the awesome art.. and the awesome people of CHICAGO!

Green with Kitty

Yes, I definitely need to invest in a good camera. Especially one that has a battery life that lasts more than two pictures, which my current $hitty camera has. I finished making this vintage inspired 'Hello Kitty' bow necklace today after spending some needed time at Joann's on Black Friday so I could capitalize on all of their sales. The necklace has two brass colored strands. The shorter strand has a sparrow charm, and the longer one has a HK bow in apple green with a pretty little rose charm in the middle. Now I must find an outfit to wear this creation with!

Happy Thanksgiving

I am thankful for so many things in my life... my family, friends (furry ones included,) the roof above my head, my health, and for the strong man by my side. I know that "life" has its many ways to help us forget all the good things we have in life, but today is the day where each 'good thing' is magnified and we get things back in perspective. After two days of cooking.. I hope the people that eat all the yummy food I made are very thankful for me, as well! Happy Thanksgiving.. Happy Eating.. Happy Drinking.. and Happy Kitty!

Scott Schuman's::The Sartorialist

I just love NPR. They always have something that interests and inspires me. Part of their Big and Beautiful: Best Gift Books of 2009, Scott Schuman's The Satorialist is a fashion diary of worldly fashionistas. He is famous for his blog: http://thesartorialist.blogspot.com/, a project he began after leaving as director for a fashion showroom. It has propelled him to fashion guru with stints at GQ, Style.com, and other reputatable companies.

The Knitty-Gritty

I get really nervous when I watch football games so as a stress reliever, I knit. I know.. weird. This is a hat I made during yesterday's all-day football fest. It's made out of gray yarn and it has a somewhat loose-fit. Although I live in Sun Diego, I like to trick myself into thinking that we do go through seasonal changes.. even if it's only via clothing... and not so much weather.
